In 1912, Bradford Woods was a "Summer Resort" for city residents.  Informal Sunday religious classes began and were held on the lawns and in local homes. In 1915, these successful classes moved into the newly-built school house on Wexford Run Road (now home to Jehovah's Witness). In 1919, a committee considered forming a church, and on January 18, 1920 a Board of Governors recommended that a new church be established, and so it was. Supply ministers were obtained, a budget calculated, a church Purpose and Constitution voted upon, and a pledge drive conducted. An Enrollment Service occurred on April 9, 1920: families signed the roll book indicating their membership in the new church. That September, Mordecai L. Corsaw was called as the first minister.

By the early fifties, enthusiasm and interest in the church increased, and the people decided to erect a church building.  A five year program resulted with the church's completion in 1956. The education wing was subsequently added in 1962.   And the present manse was built at the corner of Lincoln and Harding Roads in 1967.

Our present minister, Douglas Turner, has been serving with us since 1982.

Our church has belonged to the Council of Community Churches or one of its antecedents since at least 1932. Church ministers have included Congregationalists, Methodists and Presbyterians. Since the current building was erected, ministers and worship have reflected Presbyterian roots. Our goal is to reflect the rich spiritual heritage of all our members in our church life.

Currently our congregation has membership in the International Council of Community Churches. The Lord's Supper (Holy Communion) is celebrated monthly.
